ETHICS AND THE LEGAL PROFESSION
We advise lawyers and law firms on their ethical and fiduciary obligations to each other and their clients. Our representations have included partnership formation, restructuring, mergers, withdrawals, terminations and partnership agreements, conflicts of interest, malpractice litigation, disputes with legal malpractice insurers, fee disputes, disciplinary investigations and appeals, and trust accounting issues.
CHARTER SCHOOLS
We advise D.C. charter schools and advocacy groups on regulation, funding, formation, operations, governance, legal compliance and charter revocation challenges. Our representations have included advising clients on opening charter schools, charter review and renewal, charter management agreements, charter school takeover transactions, and operating a charter school at the D.C. Jail. We also defend charter schools threatened with closure and represented charter schools and advocacy groups in high profile funding equity litigation against the District of Columbia.
